Our client is one of the worlds leading marketing services firms. With a suite of services to
increase marketing efficiency, they have been experiencing very significant growth and are now looking to enter the next phase of their development. They are looking to develop a significant consultancy offering as an enabler for greater complexity and range of service offerings to be effectively delivered to clients globally. The consulting team will offer an independent and impartial advisory service, which will help secure more C level relationships at Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 companies. They are therefore looking to hire a Consulting practice leader to lead the development of this prestigious new offering.
The consulting practice leader will be expected to drive the consulting teams revenue and gross margin globally target £1-2 million (to be agreed) within the first 12 months at % gross margin (to be agreed), growing to £3-£5million/year over the course of 3-5 years (to be agreed) and lead the team/business unit. The consulting practice Leader will be based in London but service consulting requirements on a global basis. The team will initially consist of 2 interim resources and is expected to grow to 20 full time permanent consultants based out of both London and New York. He/she will also have access to resource from the existing the firms existing business units and can call upon associates as needed to flex project offerings.
He/she will close repeat consulting business and new business and ensure existing accounts are significantly grown through extensions and diversification. He/she will actively pursue and stimulate new business opportunities and ensure they are converted. He/she will develop expertise and thought leadership in key sector/s and have a company view. He/she will contribute to company strategy and profit, encouraging sharing of best practice and intelligence. He/she will also be a line manager and leader for his/her consulting team.
Consulting Practice Leader
Summary of experience and capabilities required:
- Experience of leading / developing a management consultancy marketing efficiency / ROI
improvement offering including leading or facilitating large marketing ROI programmes and
- Expertise in specific marketing ROI tools and techniques
- Experience of selling solutions of >£500,000 of consulting services and probably selling
£1million to £3million+
- Probably frustrated at being in a large firm and keen to take more control of own destiny
- Tenacious, self motivated and with an entrepreneurial streak
- Team player with a hands on practical bias
- Realistic about the constraints and challenges, but excited by the dynamic opportunity to
develop a specialist consulting offering backed by the strength of the firms existing brand and assets
