Job Description
The Private Sector Consulting Team has exposure to a wide range of commercial markets. Key business consulting clients cover telecoms, cpg, retail, manufacturing, Pharma and logistics. The Consulting Team can position a wide range of services across cost reduction, shared services, IT transformation, Finance Transformation and Operational Optimization(procurement/supply chain) consulting services.
We are currently looking to recruit a number of Partners & Associate Partners who can bring real value to the Practice with their sector expertise as well as be able to identify new clients / opportunities for our client. As a Partner or Associate Partner, you will be expected to make a major contribution to the growth of the Private sector Consulting Business, taking responsibility for delivering part of the sectors revenue targets, growing the pipeline of opportunities and developing consulting propositions for their particular market(s).
• To deliver an individual revenue sales target based on an area of responsibility.
• To mentor and coach other members of the business development team.
• To develop and convert a strong pipeline of opportunities for the area of responsibility.
• To fulfill a key role in account and sector development within Private Sector and within the wider community as a whole, assisting senior management in building and growing the business.
• To help formulate propositions and solutions that meet client requirements in addition to managing and directing pursuit activity.
• To develop strong client relationships within the sector, leveraging proven industry content and delivery capability.
• To perform a senior role in delivery engagements as required, anticipated utilisation target circa 20-30%.
Job Requirements
• Business Consulting Sales, with a target of £4 million ++ of per annum for Partners and £2m++ for Associate Partners. Strong bid management abilities, with a proven ability to mentor and train senior consultants.
• Marketing/event management, with a major drive to host client events and “Publish or Perish”, writing White Papers and articles to show thought leadership in the public domain.
• Solution development, showing a clear ability as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to enhance existing solutions, and develop new ones, particularly around Transformation.
• People management, building a team of consultants with the right mix of grades, competencies and experience to support business plans and projected growth.
• Project management, with a proven ability to work as Engagement Manager on sold projects, and Programme Director, running multiple client projects simultaneously.
Core Competencies
To be considered for this opportunity you will need a track record in the following:
• A Consulting background with experience in Business Development and the whole engagement lifecycle.
• Experience of selling and delivering profitable, focused pipelines across several industry verticals.
• Solid expertise in building relationships at all levels across all target business areas which will give credibility to the programmes.
• The ability to present to Board Level client decision makers, and be viewed as a trusted advisor.
• A background in consistently bidding and winning profitable contracts >£2m.
• Experience of leading multiple, diverse and complex client programmes' profitably and having accountability for managing resources, potential over-runs, billing, and recovery.
• Experience of managing large teams of consultants and being seen by them as both open and approachable.
• Proven history of relationship building vital, strong interpersonal & written communication skills a pre-requisite.
• Self starter.
• Sector knowledge is required; synergy markets include Telco, Logistics/Distribution, CPG, Retail, Pharma
• Strong delivery track record within one of the solution areas/service lines - cost reduction, shared services, IT transformation, Finance Transformation and Operational Optimization(procurement/supply chain) consulting services.
